The holding rope is locked with a plastic or steel fork, which is inserted in a channel of the rope lock.

This mechanism holds the holding rope as long as needed, and the release is triggered with an extra side-rope when the victim crawls a little sidewards. So when the victim has entirely entered the sheath the holding rope can be loosened off.
